Volunteers
Volunteering at MILAD will give you the opportunity to learn how to interact with persons with disabilities and raise awareness. We often need volunteers to help out with our projects, selling our products at bazaars, fundraising events, going for outings with our trainees and any other events. We may also need volunteers who can teach MILAD trainees Art, Basic Computer Skills, Music, Sewing, Sports etc. Or you can help out with office administrative work, updating website, newsletters, etc. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering at MILAD. We will be delighted to arrange an interview to assess your suitability to join us as a volunteer.
Organisations’ Support
We need support from corporations and other organisations to keep us going. Getting support from all of you is important to MILAD. You can help us by:
• Raising funds for us or organise a fundraising event for us to continue our work.
• Raising awareness by inviting us to share about MILAD with you.
• Organising a trip to MILAD to learn more about persons with disabilities.
• Working together with us to provide employment for persons with disabilities.
• Purchasing our products as gifts for clients and friends, or give us a booth to sell our products in any of your events.
• Sponsoring our events.
• Organising staff trips or outings for our trainees, and learn how to interact with persons with disabilities.
• Engaging our professional services for training.
• Providing us work/project that can be done in our centre.
Personal Assistant
MILAD provides personal assistant service to people with severe disabilities. A personal assistant assists a person with a disability with activities of daily living such as personal care and housework. Examples of these tasks include dressing, bathing, housework, meal preparation, shopping, etc. The personal assistant service will help persons with disability to play an active role in the community and live independently. In Independent Living Movement, it is important that the person with disability is treated like a normal person and not as a patient. Contact us if you are interested to become a personal assistant.
Make Your Celebrations More Meaningful
Having a birthday celebration? Celebrating your anniversary, wedding, baby’s fullmoon or any other special occasions? Why not ask your friends and family to make a donation to MILAD instead of receiving presents? Or consider ordering door gifts from us for the special occasion? Please Contact us if you are interested in any of these.
